This course is for the sport climber who is bored with the predictable clipping of bolts in nice straight rows.
The course is 2 lecture evenings and 4 days at a local crag.
The climber has to have at least 2 years of sport-leading experience. They will be given detailed coaching on placing and removing gear of all types and sizes, and with plenty of practice, they will be confident with their placements.
Then they will be taught how to follow a guide and read a line, prevent rope drag, place gear for direction forces, protect the second, and find those difficult placements. Then they will have the opportunity to lead trad climbs on twin rope well within their grade safely alongside their teacher who will make sure they become competent in this art.
The course concludes with lots of wise advice relating to the world of trad and managing it safely.
