first aid course

This course covers a wide range of technical aspects of advanced emergency First Aid. The hands-on approach keeps learners constantly active and is designed to lay a solid foundation in safety and advanced first aid skills. 

If the principles taught in this course are adhered to and continue with diligence, they will serve as an excellent start to ensuring that you keep yourself and others safe. 

This course comprises indoor and outdoor training sessions over 8 days. Classroom-based theory with practical sessions interwoven together to make the learner grasp as much as possible to prepare them for a real-time emergency. During the classroom sessions, learners will be taught the role of the advanced emergency first aider within the chain of survival, emergency health care system, and interaction with other emergency response services. Legal and ethical principles for the provision of risk-based advanced first aid. Maintaining personal health and safety as an advanced emergency first aider and basic awareness of the mental health of bystanders, patients and First Aid Responders. Practising CPR and choking manoeuvres on adults, children, and infants. Learning the quick application and use of an AED and so much more. 

This is followed by a recap, discussions, planning, and preparation for knowledge and skills to treat many illnesses and injuries in an emergency situation. 

At the end, the learner will be assessed and if found competent they will receive a QCTO accredited certificate. The course equips the learner with the skills to assist others in an emergency and be prepared to assist within their scope of work whether in the indoor or outdoor setting.

Eight full days of training broken down into six days of in-class training and two days at an outdoor location. In-class training will be at our training centre at 10 Conrad Street, Florida North, Johannesburg or at a venue of your choice.
